Madras Performing Arts Center and Athletics Complex

The Performing Arts Center and Athletics complex are signature projects as part of a Jefferson County School District’s 2012 bond program. The 600-seat Performing Arts Center includes the latest in lighting and sound equipment, a combination green room/community room, and includes shared space with the athletic department to support the new stadium and sports fields. The substantial height and prominent location of the facility adds visual recognition to the building, and is tied to the high school through the use of complementary materials.

The renovations to the athletics complex include a new field surrounded by an all-weather track. New bleachers, a press box, and a concessions stand allows fans to show their pride comfortably. These facilities filled the resources gap to the high school and the larger community.

PRIDE OF
THE COMMUNITY

Community input throughout the planning and design process was key to creating a center for artistic expression for all. The Performing Arts Center is part of high school but serves the entire Madras community including local theater groups.

HONORING THE
WHITE BUFFALOES

The new stadium is a community focal point and creates a true home field for the high school. A statue of a white buffalo at the base of the new bleachers honors the school’s mascot, inspires competitors, and welcomes spectators to the field.
