Todd Turner, Principal

Todd Turner has more than 37 years of experience in the field of architecture. With an emphasis on construction document preparation, project organization and cost control, he has served as project architect for educational facilities, shopping centers, hospitals, high tech offices and manufacturing facilities. Todd’s background has contributed to his ability to successfully integrate his client’s special requirements into their projects with cost effective results, leading to innovative solutions and completion of jobs within timelines and budgets.

Renée Alexander, Principal

Renée has over 31 years of experience planning and designing various educational facilities, which makes her ideally suited for working with clients through the entire planning, design and construction process. She has been instrumental in assisting her clients with looking at all possibilities, helping their visions become a reality. Renée has the ability to examine critical design issues with the client’s schedule and budget in mind. She has been a Principal with BBT since 2012, and was previously an Associate Principal with a firm in Portland. She is also past president of the Pacific NW Region of the Association for Learning Environments, as well as Chair of the James D. MacConnell Award Committee, and has been active in the organization for over 20 years.

Al Levage, Principal

Al LevageAl is a project architect with over 37 years of experience in the fields of architecture and construction.  Over the years, Al has diversified his talents by working as a project manager for a commercial general contractor, owning partnership in a real estate development company, and owning and operating a commercial construction company.  His background in these areas has allowed him to develop strong skills in construction management, application and office administration.  Most importantly, he has learned the difference between theoretical design and the efficient application of design. Al has served as a project manager for Touchmark Development & Construction Co., acting as the owner’s representative for management of building projects both in design and under construction.

Kevin Shaver, Associate Principal

Kevin ShaverKevin Shaver has been with BBT for over 13 years, and has over 19 years of architectural experience with a background in construction and landscaping. As an Associate Principal at BBT, Kevin is skilled in design, construction and project management building types that include education, medical facilities office complexes, hospitality and recreational facilities. He has particular expertise in managing educational projects from the early programming and design phases through final construction. As a Bend native, he is personally committed to providing quality architectural services to Central Oregon. Kevin is an active volunteer at his daughters' school; acting as a chaperone on numerous field trips, as well as the Architects in Schools program.

Matt Appleby, Associate

Matt ApplebyMatt has over 19 years of experience with both public and private projects including laboratory, office, historic, commercial, high-rise urban mixed use, and hospitality buildings, and previously worked as a Project Architect for Stricker Cato Murphy Architects and Koppe Wagner Architects in Seattle. As an Associate at BBT, Matt leads projects from design through construction. He is a licensed architect in Oregon and Washington, and earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree at Montana State University in Bozeman.

Katherine Decker

Katherine Decker is responsible for overseeing all aspects of business operations, including accounting, financial analysis, HR, marketing, and administration. Martha McNall

Martha McNallMartha McNall has been with BBT for over 18 years and leads the firm’s CAD team.  She has over 37 years of professional architectural experience, with 24 years experience in CAD drafting. Her past experience includes five years as a production manager for a large commercial architectural firm in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Originally joining BBT as a CAD Technician, Martha’s responsibilities have grown to include project management, consultant coordination and construction administration, with experience in all phases of the design and construction process.

Julie Still

Julie StillJulie Still is a CAD technician with over 20 years of drafting experience. Prior to joining BBT, Julie worked at Sienna Architecture in Portland and Stevens Architect designing and remodeling large scale retail buildings.  She currently works on the preparation and maintenance of base drawings, preparation of plans, elevations, sections, details for medical office buildings and retail tenant improvements. Julie also has experience submitting documents for permitting,  working with plan reviewer to obtain building permits, and performs code studies for projects in the office to ensure building code requirements are met. And if that’s not enough, Julie also assists project architects in the preparation, coordination, and issuance of revisions and clarifications during construction.
