Sun Country Tours

The 6,105 square foot project was designed for one of Bend’s most well-known whitewater rafting outfitters.  The structure includes administration offices, reservation offices, retail space and an attached bus barn. Heavy timber trusses, gabled rooflines, use of local materials and the building’s massing reflects the sub-alpine region as well as the ruggedness of adventurous lifestyles that the structure plays home base to. Interior spaces are reminiscent of the rustic exterior, with shaped beam ends, heavy timber elements and distressed pine floors.
